Supported Living with GCDN

GCDN collaborates closely with The Children's Society in the GTA to facilitate safe, supportive living arrangements for individuals under 18 as well as adults 18+. As a cornerstone of GCDN’s mission, our Supported Living Program addresses the urgent housing crisis while ensuring access to secure, inclusive accommodations.

Residential Homes

Our residential accommodations are thoughtfully designed to foster:

  • Life Skills Development: Promoting independence through daily routines and practical learning.

  • Community Living: Encouraging interaction and connection in diverse environments.

  • Recreational Opportunities: Proximity to parks and activities for a balanced, active lifestyle.

Comprehensive Housing Support

GCDN takes a hands-on approach to every aspect of the housing experience:

  • Placement Coordination: Matching individuals with accommodations that meet their needs.

  • Transitional Guidance: Navigating the challenges of moving and adjusting to a new routine.

  • Holistic Support: Offering expertise to ease the transition for both clients and their families.

Durham Region

Located in the heart of the Durham Region, GCDN provides tailored support and safe housing for minors and adults (18+) in need of structured residential care. Our experienced team works closely with local organizations, including CAS, doctors, psychologists, and the Durham District School Board, ensuring a comprehensive network of care.

Specialized Female -Identified Home

For female-identifying clients, GCDN offers a home in Pickering designed to meet unique needs, including support for those with a history of violence, high-risk situations, or religious accommodations, fostering a safe and inclusive environment.

Staff Excellence

Our staff undergo meticulous training to deliver exceptional care, creating individualized Behavioural Support Plans and Plans of Care tailored to each client. We prioritize connection with ISPs, facilitating a smooth Transition to Residential Living that addresses each resident’s unique challenges and goals.
